9 Months Awaits

9 months

Three more months until they are one.
I'm trying hard to appreciate each stage as it comes, but I won't lie, planning a first birthday for these two makes me giddy.
At nine months they are...
crawling (Tessa is more adventurous than Charlotte)
pulling up
loving Sam's Club soft pretzels
interested in board books and love being read to
have two teeth each
Charlotte weighs 20 lbs & Tessa is 19 lbs 8 oz and are both 28" long

Burpy Bib

I like bib patterns.  A lot.  I like that they are usually a simple project.  I like that the finished product is useful.  I may or may not have curated a small collection of them.
Here's my latest addition.

This bib is great because it also doubles as a burp cloth.  I like that it covers the shoulders, because my babies are always spectacularly messy eaters.  They prefer the "turn your head and cough" method of spitting food out.  I used a soft blue polka dot flannel and backed it with an even softer pink French terry.  The fabrics are so cuddly.

Lucy Turns 10

L wanted something small, not baby-ish, and laid back.
So, she invited a couple of friends from church and her cousin to come play cards, eat pizza, cupcakes, and ice cream sundaes, and watch a movie.
She ate a small lunch, saying she was saving room for the party.
My girl loves to plan.  She writes lists.  Lots of lists.
There have been lists of party ideas floating around the house for weeks and weeks.
She was excited to decorate and loved the color scheme (no pink!) and even emptied the dishwasher (one of her chores) before I got up this morning to speed things along to the decorating.
There were goodie pails for her friends.
She decorated her own cupcakes and arranged the umbrellas just so.
After opening presents, the girls headed next door to Grandma's, where I'm told the couches are more comfortable, to watch the latest American Girl movie.
Lots of giggling.  Lots of silliness.  I think it's safe to say, she felt celebrated.
I love my sweet, wonderful 10-year old.  It's great and terrible at the same time to see her growing up so fast, becoming this little lady.
Happy birthday, Lulu!

Mini Makes: Inspiration

I found these drawings while cleaning up the other night.
So much inspiration from one nine-year old cannot be kept to myself.
Had to share.

I see motivational speaking in her future.

mini makes: the pinky promise

I love that Henry is such an affectionate brother to the babies.
He loves to hold them and always jumps at the chance to throw away dirty diapers.

Today, while he was holding Charlotte, I over heard him say he pinky-promised she would grow up to be big and strong.
I think my heart melted a little bit.

 These are some lucky babies.

Mini Makes: Four Weeks Old

It's hard to believe that my littest ones are four weeks old.  That means we've been home from the hospital for three weeks and Grandma J is only going to be here for two more weeks, and my due date just passed by.

We tried to take a few pictures to mark the occasion, but the girls weren't really in the mood for a photo shoot.  To tell you the truth, they aren't really in the mood for much unless it involves milk.

Mini Makes: Littles

We have spent the last six days doing this...

It's hard to imagine a reality where there is just one of them.
We are over the moon about these two.
